Emir Aytemür

He won awards at international film festivals with his short films addressing environmental and social issues. In addition to directing short films, he also engages in digital art production. His works are inspired by Japanese arts and Zen Philosophy. Using traditional Japanese poetry art in Haiku, Minimalism, and Surrealism art movements creates his narrative style while telling stories. By focusing on the moment, he aims to provide a different perspective on environmental and social issues, making the audience witness as well.  He was born in Istanbul in 1984 and graduated from the Cinema Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts. He completed his MA in Directing Film & TV at the University of Westminster. He also holds a degree in Cinema Art Proficiency from the Department of Fine Arts.
