Uğur Demirci

Hello, I'm Uğur. I got introduced to graphic design during my high school years. In 2010, I started preparatory work with artist Nurettin Kazankaya for Yeditepe University, where I aimed to enter with a scholarship. In 2011, I began my graphic design education at Yeditepe University with a talent scholarship. Throughout this period, I had the opportunity to intern at various companies. In my final year at university in 2017, I participated in 108 Artists of the Future in Turkey, Base Istanbul. Artworks have always nourished me in my digital life, which is why I have consistently developed both aspects of myself. In 2018, I pursued a Master's degree in Visual Communication Design at Işık University with a talent scholarship. I completed my Master's thesis in 2021 under the title "New Approaches to Non-toxic Materials and Techniques in Original Printmaking." Alongside this thesis, I conducted research on techniques widely employed abroad, prioritizing health. During this process, I had the opportunity to remotely create social media designs for numerous brands, working together with influencer and renowned photographer Ümit Karalar amidst the pandemic. In 2021, I ventured into interface design to further enhance my skills and successfully completed a User Interface Design course at Userspots. I am among those who believe that the pandemic and remote working system can improve wherever they provide comfort and convenience in various areas. I strongly advocate lifelong education, always prioritizing self-improvement and staying up-to-date. In 2022, I embarked on a remote bachelor's degree program in Visual Communication Design at Anadolu University. Currently, I am dedicated to developing my own brand “Magma Space” as well as serving other companies. Furthermore, I maintain my printmaking workshop at home, which I established earlier. I thoroughly enjoy exploring and discovering new countries. By 2023, I will have visited approximately 20 countries. Additionally, I have abstained from consuming any animal products for the past 7 years and I am transitioning towards a vegan lifestyle. Amidst the pandemic, I initiated a support campaign to aid other living beings. Under the name "Patilere Destek Antalya" I successfully raised nearly 90,000 Turkish Liras in aid. Currently, I utilize this platform to gather donations for individuals living on the streets and in need of care. I consider myself successful in this endeavor and I am determined to continue assisting others.
